SUMMARY

I am a senior environment artist that loves what he does. I entered the industry as a 3d scanner, but I really got my start at Cryptic Studios where I worked my way up to a senior level on multiple shipped titles. Later, I had the chance to work at WOTC helping them start up their D&D Virtual Tabletop. And then I found myself happily back at Cryptic Studios, working on an unannounced title with a compelling art style. Unfortunately, Cryptic Studios has recently undergone a massive reduction in force, and I find myself on the hunt again.

EXPERIENCE

Senior Environment Artist, Cryptic Studios
Remote — 2023-2023
Joined the team on an unannounced project with a unique art style and the gameplay of a rogue-like souls-like hybrid. Helped refine the art style with the art director. Focused on pipeline development in Unreal 5, asset creation, worldbuilding, and lighting. Worked across disciplines to establish rules for level design and gameplay.

Senior Environment Artist, Wizards of the Coast
Remote — 2022-2023
Worked solo as the environment artist for the project, a 3D Virtual Tabletop to play Dungeons & Dragons. Worked to develop environment art style and pipeline in Unreal 5 for modeling, texturing, lighting, materials, camera, worldbuilding, and everything in-between. Worked to develop a modular system for user-generated environments.

Senior Environment Artist, Cryptic Studios
Los Gatos, CA — 2015-2022
Created models, textures, lighting, and terrain, and served as worldbuilder for Magic: Legends, Neverwinter, and an unannounced title. Worked across genres in ARPG and MMO spaces. Maintained high quality artwork while staying within scope. Designed assets to match the game’s art style. Collaborated with multiple teams and balanced artistic goals with gameplay needs.

Worked on feature films and tv shows scanning actors and movie sets for digi-doubles and LIDAR set recreation. Processed assets from point cloud data to 3D meshes. Textured and UVed hero assets for the client. Always delivered products on time with no mistakes.
